The second edition of Chantilly Arts & Elegance Concours, just outside Paris has concluded only a few months back, yet we’re already looking forward to the 3th edition in 2016 !
The Selection of cars that were present on the 6th of september in the garden of the 19th century castle, were simply marvelous. To name a few: Tour de France Auto winning Ferrari 250 GTO , the first “road-legal” GT40 and his youngest brother the brand new Ford GT. Also road legal: Mercedes CLK GTR , the one on display in Chantilly the CLK-LM is the rarest version. Besides that there were marvelous classics from popular brands such including: Ferrari ,Bugatti ,Mercedes ,Maserati ,McLaren but also a couple of brands who are no longer producing cars: Avions-Voisin, Talbot of Delahaye.
Formule 1 fans could feast their eyes on a selection of historical cars. The BRM P115 received the most attention thanks to his impressing H16 cilinder engine.
Winner of the concours was the Mercedes 500K Special Roadster. Owned by the dutchman Evert Louwman. Owner of the “Louwman Museum”. Where this car is one of the centre pieces. Quite a few clubs had their eye on the “Grand Prix des Clubs”. Even though the French ferrari club had a very impressive stand, it was not enough to keep the Delage club from winning.
Expensive tickets might have scared of some people from visiting the concours. It was still worth showing up just to see what the parking lot had to offer: Bugatti Veyron ,Ferrari LaFerrari, Mercedes SLR and the likes.
